Rachis Ring - Garnet by Independent Jeweller Jake Wells of J Wells Jewels

Introducing the Rachis Ring - Garnet, a hand-sculpted masterpiece that reflects the serene beauty of nature, crafted by Jake Wells, an independent jeweller based in Winchester. Drawing inspiration from the delicate forms of feathers and leaves, this piece is a testament to the fusion of natural aesthetics and meticulous craftsmanship.

Key Features:

  • Design. Inspired by the common forms of feather and leaf, this ring beautifully captures the intricate details and textures of nature.
  • Gemstone. At the heart of the design is a beautifully round garnet, bezel-set and cradled by the tips of two elegantly sculpted leaves.
  • Customisation. Available in your desired size, ensuring a perfect fit and personal touch to this bespoke piece.
  • Inspiration. Jake Wells' upbringing in the English countryside, surrounded by natural forms, textures, and patterns, serves as a profound source of inspiration for his designs.
  • Precision. With a background in spacecraft design, Jake brings a unique perspective to jewellery making, blending precision engineering with the playfulness of natural materials.
  • Craftsmanship. Each piece is meticulously made to order in Jake’s Winchester workshop, highlighting the artisanal quality and attention to detail.

This ring, part of his growing collection, showcases his commitment to creating bespoke pieces that resonate with the beauty of the natural world and the precision of engineering.

Jewellery Designer and Goldsmith

Jake Wells

Being a jewellery designer allows me to bring together my passion for the natural world and my experiences working as a design engineer in the space industry. Growing up in the English countryside, surrounded by the forms, textures and patterns of nature is a huge source of inspiration. Working on spacecrafts has grounded me in precision engineering and industrial processes that inform my desire to ‘play’ with natural materials. I am at my happiest and most creative when hand-crafting objects that experiment with making these two worlds collide.

Boutee's Green Mission

The jewellery industry needs to do more to reduce its carbon footprint. That’s why we offset 120x more carbon than we produce, plant a tree for every purchase, and promote jewellers that are leading by example.
