The Bespoke Story

"Harry chose the beautiful Mull Sound and Tobermory Lighthouse as the location to pop the question with his beautiful bespoke engagement ring, and of course Rachel said yes!

Harry snuck away for a secret design consultation to design this gorgeous ring. We came up with this scalloped shaped halo design around an oval ruby. I showed him a selection of rubies to hand select from in the flesh during a second consultation and here we have the finished ring!

The slim band is made from 18ct yellow gold with a platinum setting head, featuring a 1.09ct 8x6mm oval ruby, and a moissanite set curved and scalloped halo.

“I just wanted to drop you a quick email to thank you for everything you’ve done to bring this proposal to life. The ring is beautiful and Rachel absolutely loved it!”

Halo Shaped Engagement Rings

Renowned for their stunning visual appeal, halo rings feature a central gemstone encircled by smaller diamonds, enhancing the ring's brilliance and size. This design first gained popularity in the Georgian era and saw a resurgence in the Victorian period, symbolising romance and elegance. Today's halo engagement rings blend this historical charm with modern craftsmanship.

Jodie Gearing

Jodie is passionate about the stories attached to the commissions she designs. Our resident designer takes pride in working to each client’s individual brief and can turn her hand to any style from intricate pieces, to slick and contemporary designs.

Jodie was born and raised in the Bedfordshire countryside. She had an innate love for Art and Design so pursued this avenue by moving to Canterbury to complete a Foundation Course at The University for the Creative Arts. It was here that she discovered a love of metal work and jewellery when she experimented with mixed media. Paper, fabric, masking tape and paint turned to plastics and then copper, silver and gemstones – she had discovered jewellery design!

The next steps were a degree in Goldsmithing, Silversmithing and Jewellery at The University for the Creative Arts in Rochester where she won several awards and bursaries for her creative designs. After graduating in 2009, she worked for a bespoke jeweller for a year. Here, she fell in love with the stories of the clients she worked with and relished the education part of the job – passing on knowledge of precious stones, metals and design to customers to enable them to make an informed decision.
