My son was delighted with his coin cufflinks for his 18th birthday. His brother had a pair for his eighteenth and he had commented then how much he liked them. I got the gold finish which looks very classy. I would highly recommend Coin Design jewellery.

Coin Design founder Matt Hornby profile photo

Owner

Matt Hornby

Matt started his jewellery journey in his second year of college in 2014. He worked with his dad, the owner of Coin Creations, who taught him all the skills and techniques required to make high quality pieces, including very precise piercing with a jewellers saw.

His dad, Paul, had worked with Coin Design, who did all of the enamelling, for over 20 years. In 2018, when the original owner of Coin Design stepped down, it made perfect sense for Matt to become the owner of Coin Design where he then went on to learn how to do the enamelling too.

The two businesses now work side by side to make the complete range of products on offer.

FAQs

Yes, all of our products are made from genuine coins. We only cut out coins which are no longer in circulation but we enamel both old and new coins.

Although we do have a stock built up, due to the amount of variations, some pieces may need to be made to order. We aim to dispatch all orders within 3 working days.

We use Royal Mail for all of our orders. Individual items will be sent on a 1st Class Signed For delivery. Two or more items will be sent on a Special Delivery. Tracking numbers will be available for all orders.

We recommend keeping our items away from chemicals and moisture/liquid to protect the plating and enamel. This means removing before having a shower, going for a swim or applying perfumes. The occasional polish with a polishing cloth will also help bring back the shine that may be lost over time.
