Hi, I really like your work and would love to order a ring from you. I've attached a few examples of rings I like for reference. Could you let me know how much something similar would cost and how long it would take to make?

The Jeweller Process

1

The Consultation

You'll have an initial chat with your jeweller (online or in person) to discuss your ideas, timeline, and budget in more detail.

2

Design & Sourcing

Your jeweller will create initial design sketches and source a selection of gemstones for you to choose from. You'll work together to refine the design until it's perfect.

3

Creation & Hallmarking

Once you approve the final design, your jeweller will get to work handcrafting your ring. It will then be sent to the Assay Office to be hallmarked, certifying its quality.

4

The Final Ring

Your finished ring is ready! It will be delivered to you, ready for your special moment.

Your questions, answered

This depends entirely on the type/quality of materials and gemstones you want to use, as well as the complexity of the design. People usually spend at least £1000.

Most rings take between 6 to 12 weeks from initial design to completion. The exact timeline depends on the jeweller's schedule, material availability, and your design's complexity. We recommend discussing lead times with your jeweller early in the process to ensure the timeline works for you.

Not at all. You can start with anything from a simple sketch to a Pinterest board, or just a few ideas about what you're drawn to. Your jeweller will guide you through the design process, helping you refine your vision into something uniquely yours.

Yes. There are no fees to use Boutee—you only pay your chosen jeweller directly for your ring.

Yes. Many jewellers are happy to work with stones you already own, whether they're sentimental heirlooms or gems you've sourced yourself. Your jeweller can assess the stone and incorporate it into your bespoke design.

No. Initial consultations are simply conversations to explore your vision and see if you're a good creative match. You're free to speak with multiple jewellers before making a decision. That said, as these are busy professionals, it's respectful to limit consultations to jewellers you're genuinely considering working with.
