Edward Xu
Edward Xu is a jewellery designer who has recently been shortlisted as Jewellery Designer of the Year by the Professional Jewellery Awards and Emerging Jewellery Designer of the Year by the UK Jewellery Awards. He is a three-time winner of a Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council Award and has been selected for Spotlighting and Shine by the Goldsmiths’ Centre. Edward’s work is frequently featured in jewellery, fashion and luxury publications and is worn by British Singer Becky Hills.
He graduated from Central Saint Martins College, London, in 2011 and went on to work as a jewellery designer for Solange Azagury-Patridge and Tateossian, as well as completing projects for luxury brands, including Ermenegildo Zegna, Canali, Cartier, and Swarovski. Edward recently completed an MA in luxury brand management at the University for the Creative Arts, Epsom, achieving a distinction.
Edward’s interest in jewellery started at a young age while he was still living in China. He became passionate about fine-crafted objects whilst visiting antique markets in Canton. From decorative porcelain vases in the Tianguang Market to carved gemstone jewellery from Les Puces, Paris, and intricate metal and wooden jewellery boxes found in a Hackney flee market, appreciating these beautiful antiques throughout Edward’s life helped him find his vocation.
I purchased the Dew ring from EDXÚ and upon its arrival I instantly fell in love with it. Fantastic detail from the packaging to the ring itself... I would recommend EDXÚ to anyone looking for some delightful and unique jewellery.
I purchased the Alexi and Glacier rings... they can be worn separately but they look beautiful together. I was very impressed with the made to order service and they arrived beautifully wrapped and presented, the rings are well priced and look more expensive than the cost. While contemporary in design they look timeless and I would highly recommend EDXU.
I struggle to find Jewellery I like but I am obsessed with my EDXU pieces!!I had an amazing service with both purchases. Ed is a very talented designer, the pieces speak for themselves, from the craft to the design everything is impeccable.
More about EDXÚ
Each piece of jewellery encapsulates a special sentiment. EDXÚ's goal is to preserve, reimagine and celebrate this profound relationship between the jewellery and the wearer. EDXÚ jewellery is conceptual, philosophical and non-binary. Its designs are inspired by 20th-century architecture, arts, and philosophical stories about life and nature. Edward draws inspiration from arts across diverse disciplines: from Brutalism architecture and Art-Deco interiors to Cubism paintings and antique jewellery; he believes everything is connected and tells a story. Edward's unique perspectives and vision enfold each piece of EDXÚ jewellery with stories and creativity.
EDXÚ is short for Edward Xú. 'ED' represents Edward's education, career and life now in London, England, and 'XÚ' signifies his roots and heritage from Canton, China. Having spent half of his life in both places, It is an integral part of his ethos to promote and celebrate different cultures around the world. Mindful, curious, innovative and authentic—these values guided and made them who they are.
